The Remarkable
Life of
Wong Chin Foo |
 |
|
 |
Wong was instrumental in the
establishment of Manhattan's first Chinese theatre. He first
voiced the idea in 1884, but had to wait nearly a decade to see
his dream realized in 1893.
|
Wong fell in
briefly with the Theosophists in 1877. He met Madame Helena
Petrovna Blavatsky and
Colonel Henry Steel Olcott and gave a talk on Buddhism to their followers in
New York.
